Below is a list of resources that may be helpful during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. If you anticipate having any issues paying your rent or utilities please contact us as soon as possible. If you are aware of a resource that is not listed please let us know.
The Delaware State Housing Authority has a program that provides up to $1500 for those who have been laid off, lost income, or have taken off work to care for a family member. You must meet an income criteria (below 80% area median income). NOTE: This program is not currently taking new applications.
You can call 2-1-1 or visit the 211 website for up to date lists and referrals to housing assistance agencies within the state. Contact information for all of the agencies is on their website.
United Way COVID-19 Fund
Local United Way offices have funds available for those effected by COVID-19. Their contact number is 1-866-211-9966.
If you have lost employment or had a reduction in work be sure to check if you are eligible for unemployment insurance (with pending legislation those not once eligible may now be). For frequently asked questions about COVID-19 Delaware unemployment specifically read this FAQ.
Assistance with Utilities
Many utility providers are working to provide assistance to those unable to pay bills due to COVID-19. Many have also suspended service disconnects. If you are unable to pay your utility bill contact your provider to see if they have any assistance programs available for COVID-19. The 2-1-1 website also has a list of agencies that can provide assistance with utilities.
